Kendell & Mark
Kendell: Mark and I met at a restaurant called, “Tomato Head,” in downtown Knoxville. We were rolling silverware in the back and started talking about our dogs and music. We gave each other bands to listen to (like Cigarettes After Sex and Galaxie 500) and I couldn’t quit thinking about him after that. A few days after that we were invited to a work party and we had a moment on the dance floor. After that night it was obvious that we were going to spend the rest of our lives together. After dating for two years, one day he showed up at my office where my bosses had called me into a “meeting”. He interrupted the meeting and surprised me by saying, “Hey wanna go on a trip for your birthday?” And I was in total shock! He had asked my bosses for a couple days off of work without me knowing to surprise me with a trip. October of 2018 we went to Fort Myers, Florida and he proposed on the beach of Sanibel Island on my birthday.
